Kolkata, 13 July (H.S.): The Trinamool Congress has given a big blow to the BJP on all the four assembly seats vacant in West Bengal. The party won all the four seats in West Bengal for which by-elections have been held. Of these, three are in Maniktala, Ranaghat South and Bagdah South Bengal. Raiganj is in North Bengal. In the assembly elections held in the year 2021, the BJP had won from Ranaghat South, Bagdah and Raiganj, while the Trinamool won Maniktala seat. But in 2022, it fell vacant after the death of former Minister of State Sadhan Pandey.

After the completion of all ten rounds of counting, All India Trinamool Congress candidate Krishna Kalyani won the Raiganj assembly seat by more than 85 thousand votes, while defeating his nearest rival and BJP candidate Manas Kumar Ghosh by more than 50 thousand votes. Apart from Raiganj, Trinamool candidate Madhuparna Thakur defeated the BJP candidate by more than 30 thousand votes in Bagda. Trinamool's Mukut Mani Adhikari was victorious from Ranaghat South seat. He defeated BJP's Manoj Kumar Biswas by 39 thousand 48 votes. While Trinamool candidate Krishna Kalyani won the Raiganj assembly seat. He defeated BJP's Manas Kumar Ghosh by 50 thousand 77 votes. Congress's Mohit Sen Gupta remained in third place with 23 thousand 116 votes.
