Nepal police arrest Indian agents in gold smuggling case


Kathmandu, 08 June (HS):- Nepal police arrested several Indian agents involved in the 100 Kg gold smuggling from China to India via Nepal, during the last three years.

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police informed a court about the arrest of Indian agents. Nepal police detected smuggling of 100 Kg of gold after detecting smuggling through motorcycle brake shoes from Hong Kong. In the chargesheet filed by the police information about Prashant Ganesh Bajwalkar (32) from Jalgaon in Maharashtra, Ashok Gaikwad and Dheeraj Nidesh Bainte from Mumbai, Shridhar Majumda and Avinash Agrawal from Kolkata. These Indian nationals were allegedly involved in the gold smuggling racket. The Nepali agents involved named by the CID include Kanchha Man Lama from Kabhe, Surendraman Shreshtha from Birganj, Premnath Sedhai from Dhading, Usha Khatri Niroula from Udaipur and a Tibetian Ganga Dasi.
