Jalpaiguri, June 11 (HS): Elephant attacks are continuing in the Jalpaiguri district's Metali block. Six houses have been damaged in elephant attacks once again on Tuesday morning. Villagers narrowly escaped the attack. The incident took place in Uttar Dhoopjhora of Metali block.

According to local sources, an elephant came out of the Gorumara forest near Uttar Dhoopjhora area at 2.30 am and entered the Uttar Dhoopjhora area. It was raining heavily at that time. After that, it created a lot of ruckus in Ajgarpada, Janata Dhura and Makarpada. Six houses were completely damaged in the elephant attack.

Later the elephant went into the forest. Villagers narrowly escaped in the incident. Villagers have demanded compensation from the forest department.
