Guwahati, 09 May (HS): State Bharatiya Janata Party President Bhabesh Kalita has said that it is because of the Congress and Left parties that the population of Muslims in Assam has increased so much. He said that everyone knows how Muslims were promoted here.

The BJP President was talking to journalists on Thursday at the state BJP headquarters Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan. He said that in the Lok Sabha elections held in the state, it is certain that BJP and BJP supported candidates will win 13 out of total 14 seats in the state. However, he expressed uncertainty about the victory of the NDA candidate on Dhubri seat.

In response to a question, the BJP President said that the BJP candidates are going to win the five Lok Sabha seats of the state without any contest in the first phase. He said that in the second phase of voting, the party will win the seats of Diphu, Silchar, Sonitpur and Mangaldai without any contest. The party will contest on Nagaon and Karimganj seats. The BJP President said that the victory of the BJP candidate on all the 10 seats in the first and second phase is certain.

Regarding the third phase, he said that BJP and NDA are going to win Barpeta, Kokrajhar and Guwahati seats. At the same time, nothing can be said with certainty regarding the Dhubri seat in the third phase of voting.

The BJP President said that people have been attracted towards BJP due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's agenda of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. During this, BJP President Kalita gave direct answers to many questions of the journalists.
