Shivraj Singh claims Digvijay to lose polls, lotus will bloom in MP


Bhopal, 07 May (HS): Voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh started peacefully even as former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who reached the polling booth along with his family to cast his vote, has made a big claim. He said that Congress leader Digvijay Singh is losing the elections and full 29 lotuses will bloom on 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

It is noteworthy that for the third phase of voting, voting is taking place today at 20,456 polling stations in nine parliamentary constituencies of the state, Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, Guna, Rajgarh, Bhopal, Vidisha, Sagar and Betul. In this phase, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan from Vidisha, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh from Rajgarh and union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia from Guna are in the fray and the reputation of all of them is at stake.

The opposition talks about murder of democracy, whereas everyone knows that democracy was murdered by Congress. What did Indira Gandhi do, he asked.

Shivraj Singh claimed that there is a wave of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country. The public is choosing development and hence the slogan given by BJP this time will cross 400. In response to a question, he said that like every time in Madhya Pradesh, the people will answer Congress. During this period, regarding low turnout, Shivraj clearly said that I do not think by how many votes the victory will be. Voting has taken place in the last two elections. This time I hope that all my brothers, sisters and mothers will donate their votes. My appeal is to come out and ensure your participation in the great festival of democracy and you will definitely cast your vote. He appealed to the people to vote. He said that voting is a symbol of our loyalty towards democracy and that is why we must vote.

It is noteworthy that this morning, Shivraj Singh Chauhan was the first to offer prayers in the temple along with his wife Sadhna Singh. He along with his family reached the banks of Mother Narmada to offer prayers. After that, reached the polling center in home village Jait at 7.30 in the morning. Where he voted with wife Sadhna, son Karthikeya and Kunal Chauhan. For the third phase, 81 thousand to 824 polling personnel have been deployed at 20 thousand 456 polling stations in the state, while 20 percent of the employees have been kept reserved, so that immediate arrangements can be made if necessary. Two thousand 103 sector magistrates have been appointed who are keeping an eye on law and order. Apart from this, additional police forces have been deployed in Bhind, Morena and Gwalior.

This time, 127 candidates are in the fray for nine Lok Sabha seats in the state. These include 15 candidates in Morena, seven in Bhind, 19 in Gwalior, 15 in Guna, 13 in Sagar, 13 in Vidisha, 22 in Bhopal, 15 in Rajgarh and eight in Betul. Maximum 22 candidates are in the fray in Bhopal and minimum seven candidates are in the fray in Bhind. One crore 77 lakh 52 thousand 583 voters will be able to exercise their franchise in these areas.
