New Delhi, 07 May (HS): Till 1 pm on Tuesday, an average voting of about 40 percent took place for 93 Lok Sabha seats in 11 states during the third phase.

Till 1 pm, 45.88 percent in Assam, 36.69 percent in Bihar, 46.14 percent in Chhattisgarh, 39.94 percent in Dadar Nagar Haveli Daman Diu, 49.04 percent in Goa, 37.83 percent in Gujarat, 41.59 percent in Karnataka, 44.67 percent in Madhya Pradesh, 31.55 percent in Maharashtra, 38.12 percent in Uttar Pradesh and 49.27 percent in West Bengal voting took place.

In this phase, a total of 1331 candidates are contesting for 93 Lok Sabha seats (General-72, ST-11, SC-10) in 11 states. There are also eight candidates from Betul seat of Madhya Pradesh. It is noteworthy that earlier in the first two phases of the general elections, voting for 189 seats had been completed in a smooth and peaceful manner. The results of all seven phases will be declared on June 4.

Voting is taking place for these seats:

Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Guwahati of Assam. Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura and Khagaria of Bihar. Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur of Chhattisgarh. Dadra and Nagar Haveli and two seats of Daman and Diu. Both North Goa and South Goa of Goa. 25 out of 26 seats in Gujarat - Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Mahesana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Anand, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Voting will be held in Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Bardoli, Navsari and Valsad. BJP candidate has won unopposed in Surat.

Chikkodi, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davangere and Shimoga of Karnataka. Bhind, Bhopal, Guna, Gwalior, Morena, Rajgarh, Sagar, Vidisha and Betul of Madhya Pradesh. Voting in Betul was shifted from second to third phase due to the demise of the BSP candidate.

Maharashtra's Baramati, Raigarh, Osmanabad, Latur (SC), Solapur (SC), Madha, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Hatkanangale.

Sambhal, Hathras, Agra (SC), Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Amla and Bareilly of Uttar Pradesh. Malda North, Malda South, Jangipur and Murshidabad of West Bengal. Voting for Anantnag-Rajouri seat of Jammu and Kashmir, declared in the third phase, will be held in the fifth phase on May 25.
