Kharge casts doubt over ECI working; seeks support of INDI leaders

New Delhi, 07 May (HS): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed doubts over the functioning of the Election Commission over the delay in releasing data after the first and second phase of voting. Holding the Election Commission responsible for this, Kharge has appealed to the leaders of the INDI alliance to come together and raise their voice against such irregularities.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in a letter to the parties involved in the Indi alliance, has said that there was a delay in the final percentage of voting for the first and second phase. Citing media reports, he has also written that the list of voters for the third phase has not been released, this is a disturbing thing.

Kharge has said that the Election Commission is an institution which has been created by the collective efforts of the common people, but all these things raise deep doubts on the way the Election Commission works. He has said that information about the voting percentage and the percentage of votes cast at each polling station should be given to the Commission within 24 hours. Kharge said that the data of the last two phases of voting that has come out from the Election Commission has not given many important information. After two phases of voting, the Election Commission released the data of total voting percentage two days later. The Election Commission did not give any explanation as to why this work was delayed.
