Raipur, 5 May (HS): The Election Commission in Chhattisgarh has completed preparations for the third phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections. Voting is going to be held on 7 Lok Sabha seats in the state on May 7.

Earlier, Chhattisgarh Excise Department has decided to close the liquor shops for two days. In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the government has declared dry day from May 5 to 7. This order will be applicable for Durg, Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Raigarh, Surguja Lok Sabha constituencies including Raipur. In the order issued by the department, it has been said that 48 hours before voting i.e. today, Sunday, May 5, from 5 pm onwards, liquor shops will remain closed till May 7.

Domestic and foreign liquor shops will also be kept closed in the districts falling within 3 km radius of the seven Lok Sabha seats. During this period, transportation of liquor has also been banned. Strict action will also be taken if caught while transporting.
