Shivpal Yadav accuses UP Police of influencing polls

Badaun, 5 May (HS): SP's National General Secretary Shivpal Yadav has complained to the District Election Officer, Election Observer and SSP, accusing several police station incharges of the district of influencing the elections.

Shivpal Yadav reached the Collectorate on Sunday with his son and SP candidate Aditya Yadav. Shivpal Yadav, while talking to the media here, said that Moosajhaag, Vinabar, Kunwargaon, Sahaswan, Rajpura, Wazirganj and Sadar Kotwal of the district have picked up about 40 people. Out of them, Moozhaag police station incharge has taken challan action against 31 people under section 151.

SP's national general secretary Shivpal Yadav alleged that all these police station incharges are working under the pressure of the government. Shivpal Yadav says that even before this he has complained twice to the election observer, district election officer and SSP. The district administration is not paying attention.

He told reporters that the SP delegation on Sunday would meet the Election Commission in Lucknow and Delhi regarding this issue. He said that no matter how much effort the BJP people put in, we will not allow any disturbance to happen. There will be trouble; you will have to go from one police station to other.

He has also accused the SSP of not picking up the phone late at night. Regarding the road show of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami going to be held in Badaun, he said that the leaders of his state are not able to do anything; no one is listening to them. Dhami will come and go. All the meetings of BJP are flop shows. Bharatiya Janata Party is going to be completely wiped out, he added.
