Hindusthan Samachar/ Kuwait Emir dissolves parliament, suspends constitutional articles

To review democratic process

Kuwait, 11 May (HS):- Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Sabah has dissolved the parliament on Friday, and also suspended some of the constitutional articles temporarily.

The step has been taken to study all aspects of the democratic process.

All the powers of the National assembly will be vested in the Emir, State TV reported.

In an interview with the TV channel, Emir al-Sabah said Kuwait has been through some hard times lately. The decision to dissolve the parliament is difficult but necessary to save the country and secure its highest interests.
