Agartala, 30 April (HS). Huge quantities of cough syrup and marijuana were seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Customs in Tripura. Tripura Police informed today that a raid was conducted in Rangutia area of West Tripura district and drugs were seized.

Based on intelligence, the 42nd battalion of BSF and the Customs department based at Singerbil seized 25,127 bottles of Phensedyl cough syrup, 5,776 Escuff syrup and 223 bottles of Brang cough syrup. 22 kg of ganja was also seized in the raid.

Sources said that the value of seized drugs is around Rs 62 lakh 42 thousand 185. The goods were later handed over to the Customs Department.

Meanwhile, in another operation, the GRP seized 345 Escuff cough syrup bottles from Agartala Railway Station. Cough syrup was seized while being transported to other states by Agartala train. Four smugglers were arrested in this case.
