Lucknow, 28 April (HS): President Droupadi Murmu is expected to visit Ayodhya and pay obeisance to Ram Lalla on May 1. She will be the third president to visit Ayodhya, and the second to pay respects to Ram Lalla. Former president Ramnath Kovind had offered prayers at Ram Lalla in 2021. In 1983, the late Giani Zail Singh paid a visit to Ayodhya while serving as president. He then prayed at Hanumangarhi and Kanak Bhawan.

President Murmu is scheduled to arrive at Ayodhya airport at 4 p.m. on May 1. According to sources here on Sunday, she would depart from the airport for Hanumagarhi at 4.50 p.m. to have darshan of Hanuman Lalla.

At 5.45 p.m., she will perform the Saryu Maha Aarti. After aarti, the President will visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and participate in the aarti after seeing Ram Lalla at 6.45 p.m. She will visit Kuber Tila at 7.15 p.m. and then leave for Delhi. During the entire event, Governor Anandi Ben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are expected to join the President.
