The two accused ladies had filed a missing person's report for the victim, he said. Abha, a divorcee, was living with her mother and brother and was concerned by his aggressive behaviour while under the influence of alcohol, according to the official.

Abha reportedly enlisted her lover Atul's assistance in murdering her brother and gave him money to do so, he said. Atul and his buddy Pappu lured the victim under the guise of taking him out for a drink, strangled him, and disposed of his corpse in the lake at Abha's request, the officer said, adding that she reportedly paid the couple Rs 10,000.
