Muzaffarnagar, 27 April (HS): A 14-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped and raped by a man here, authorities said Saturday. According to a lawsuit submitted by the girl's family, Majid abducted her on Friday and took her to a nearby field, where he raped her.

The accused threatened the girl, but when she got home, she told her family about the event, according to Raju Sav, circle officer at Charthawal police station.

He said a complaint has been filed against Majid, who is at large, under sections 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and the POCSO Act. He stated the girl had been sent for a medical evaluation.
