Imphal, April 25 (HS). Assam Rifles and Jiribam Police of Manipur seized brown sugar which was being carried hidden inside the pumpkins. Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has praised Assam Rifles and Jiribam Police for this. The Chief Minister said through social media on Thursday that on the basis of secret information, during the search of a Bolero Pickup (AS 11 DC 3506) vehicle by the security forces, capsules filled with 363.45 grams of brown sugar were recovered. Two smugglers were arrested in this connection. T

he arrested smugglers have been identified as Abdul Mannan Majumdar and Khalilullah Barbhuiyan. The Brown sugar being hidden inside pumpkins was being transported from Tipaimukh in Manipur's Firjawal to Cachar district of Assam. Both the smugglers are being interrogated. They been handed over to Jiribam police station for further legal action.
