SC again rejects Baba Ramdev apology, orders to appear along with Balkrishna on April 30

New Delhi, 23 April (HS): The Supreme Court again rejected the apology of Baba Ramdev and Patanjali in the case of giving misleading advertisements against allopathic medicines. Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna will have to appear in the Supreme Court again on April 30.

The Supreme Court asked Patanjali to increase the size of the advertisement and highlight the apology so that people could understand it. During the hearing, Patanjali's lawyer told the Supreme Court that we have given an apology in 67 newspapers. On this, the Supreme Court asked whether the apology given to the newspapers is of the same size as the advertisement you give.

The Supreme Court today widened the scope of hearing and said that the matter will not be limited to just one institution (Patanjali). The Supreme Court asked the Center what action it has taken against other companies that are playing with people's health by selling products through misleading advertisements. The court asked the Indian Medical Association why allopathy doctors prescribe expensive medicines of particular brands in their prescriptions.

The Supreme Court asked the National Medical Commission whether there is a provision to cancel the registration of doctors who knowingly prescribe expensive medicines. The Supreme Court has also made the drug licensing authorities of every state a party in the case.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court had rejected the apology on April 10 and earlier also on April 2.
