Nepal proposes 9 amendments to attract foreign investment


Kathmandu, 22 Apr (HS): Nine bills have been placed in Nepal’s Parliament to attract foreign investment. The proposed bills have been moved given the international investment summit to be held towards the end of this month.

The cabinet approved the amendments in nine laws and requested the government to issue the related directives. The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachand. The proposed amendments have been suggested to facilitate foreign investment in Nepal.

The Government Spokesperson Rekha Sharma said that the directives have been forwarded to the President for his consent. The proposals are related to land acquisition, forest life conservation, power trade, special economic zones, public-private participation etc.
