Cachar (Assam), 20 April (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has today announced that all the students passing the matriculation examination will be given free admission in college. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister had announced to provide free college admission to girl students passing matriculation. Along with this, the Chief Minister had also announced that the government will give Rs 10,000 in the accounts of girl students who pass matriculation. Today the Chief Minister also announced free college admission for boy students.

The Chief Minister was addressing an election rally in support of Assam government minister and BJP candidate Parimal Shuklabaidya at Barkhola in Silchar Lok Sabha constituency on Friday.

He has said that the people of Silchar will no longer need to travel such long distances to Guwahati to get work done in the Secretariat. A mini secretariat will be set up in Silchar before the 2026 elections. Most of the work of the people will be done in this secretariat. The Chief Minister said that now one will not have to travel a distance of 12 hours via Meghalaya to go from Guwahati to Silchar. The road from Haflong to Silchar will be ready before the 2026 elections. After its construction, people will be able to reach Guwahati from Silchar in just 6 hours. The Chief Minister said that due to the distance of Guwahati from Silchar, brokers dominate in Silchar.

The Chief Minister said that for the third time, BJP government will be formed at the Center under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with more than 400 seats. After the formation of this government, people will continue to get free rice, free treatment under Ayushman Bharat, Rs 1250 for every woman in Arunodaya etc.

The Chief Minister said that within six months of the completion of Lok Sabha elections, 50 thousand more unemployed people will be given government jobs. He said that after the elections, under the Lakhpati Baidev Scheme, Rs 10,000 each will be given in the accounts of the women of Assam. The Chief Minister said that the government's aim is to include women in every family under the Arunodaya Yojana. The Chief Minister said that everyone's ration card will be made and a monthly amount will be provided to a woman from every ration card holder family under the Arunodaya Yojana. Responding to an allegation made by Mamata Banerjee two days ago, the Chief Minister said that within the coming 6 months all the problems related to detention camps, D-voter, citizenship, foreign tribunal etc. will be resolved. He said that paved roads will be built in the tea gardens and drinking water will be provided to every house. The Chief Minister said that now under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, houses will be given through Jio tag itself.

Regarding Silchar BJP candidate Parimal Shuklabaidya, the Chief Minister said that Parimal Shuklabaidya is the minister of two departments – Excise and Transport. The state government is getting maximum revenue from these two departments. At the same time, the Chief Minister said that Parimal Shuklabaidya does not take even a single rupee from anyone. During the rally, candidate Shuklabaidya and senior BJP leaders, MLAs and other workers were present on the stage along with the Chief Minister.
