Tokyo, 02 Apr (HS): A powerful earthquake of 6.1 magnitudes struck North Japan’s Iwate and Aomori provinces on Tuesday. The Japan Meteorological Agency has recorded the quake at 6.1 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre of the earthquake was at the northern coastal part of Iwate. Tremors were felt at 00:59 am (IST). There is no warning of Tsunami. No damage to property or lives was reported.
Japan was hit by an earthquake of 7.5 on January 1.
