Chitrakoot, 2 April (HS): A dumper smashed a vehicle on the Jhansi-Mirzapur highway on Tuesday, killing at least five persons and badly injuring three more. At roughly 05:30 a.m., the accident happened when the auto overtook another vehicle and was smashed by a dumper approaching from the other way.

The accident occurred near Amanpur village in the Karvi Kotwali region. According to reports, the nine-person vehicle was taking passengers from Karvi railway station to Ramghat. According to police, three of the occupants in the vehicle died on the scene, while two died while being treated. Three people were injured and are being treated, but the fatalities have not yet been recognized, according to authorities. Following the crash, the driver exited the dumper and fled the scene.
