BJP asks for resignation from Kejriwal on moral grounds

Delhi, 02 April (HS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought resignation from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on moral grounds.

Attacking Arvind Kejriwal, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said in a press conference on Tuesday that he should resign on moral grounds after facing the court nine times. He asked that when Manish Sisodia was arrested, his resignation was taken and when Satyendra Jain went to jail, his resignation was also taken. Now that Arvind Kejriwal himself has gone to jail, he is talking about running the government from jail. Why are there double standards today? He should also have resigned. He said that the country is run by the Constitution. There is dignity in democracy.

Gaurav Bhatia said that Kejriwal first went to the Delhi High Court and said that nine summons had come from ED, and he should not be arrested. After looking at the files, the High Court said that if anyone is accused in the liquor scam, it is you. He was not even given bail. The people of Delhi are now saying that there is enough corruption.

He said that when Kejriwal had taken his first step into politics, he had said that if allegations were made against anyone, he should resign. Now what happened? Earlier when I joined politics I had said that I would end corruption but today I got involved in corruption.

Kejriwal had said that he would not take security, he would not take a car or bungalow but you have built Sheesh Mahal. He said that the Prime Minister commits that no corrupt person will be spared.
