ED Claims Chief Minister Indulges in High-Carb Foods to Manipulate Blood Sugar Levels for Bail

Delhi, 18 April (H.S): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is deliberately consuming high-carb food, such as mangoes and sweets, in order to raise his blood sugar levels and build a case for bail. The ED's Special Counsel Zoheb Hossain argued before the Rouse Avenue Court that this was Kejriwal's ploy to create grounds for bail.

However, CM Kejriwal's lawyer Vivek Jain opposed this submission, stating that the counsel was making statements for the media and playing to the gallery. The court has now sought a medical report from Tihar Jail authorities on the CM's diet and listed the matter for hearing on Friday. While this allegation by the ED only surfaced on Thursday, it had been circulating on social media since a day earlier. A post on social media claimed that CM Kejriwal's family was sending him high-sugar and carb-laden food to deliberately raise his sugar levels.

It is worth noting that CM Kejriwal's lawyers had previously argued about his health conditions, stating that he was diabetic when he was sent to custody. However, the ED had countered by saying that jail facilities were equipped to provide medical care and examination.
