Lawlessness, Law and Order problems and West Bengal

Dr. Mayank Chaturvedi

There is a popular saying which means-How can one know without enduring the pain. However, the followers of Mamta Banerjee are full of showers claiming that 'Mamata Didi's life is an embodiment of struggle. She especially does not forget to recall the month of December 1992, when she took a physically handicapped girl, Felani Basak (who was allegedly raped by CPI(M) workers) to the then Chief Minister Jyoti Basu. But, on the contrary, the police arrested her. To highlight this instance her fans keep blabbering that her political journey kicked off as a voice fighting for women's identity. But, shockingly the bitter truth today in West Bengal is alarming as anything can happen at any moment like riots and law and order problems.

No peace on Ram Nabami festival day: Ever since Mamata Bannerji took over the reins of the state, there have been incidents of stone pelting during Hindu festivals like Ram Navami, Durga Puja and other such festivals by the unruly Islamic elements. Often terrorists are caught from different places in West Bengal. The terrorists of the Bengaluru blast also came and hid here. Yes, the main accused in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from West Bengal. Both were detained from Kolkata. Shajib Hussain had planted the IED in the cafe while Abdul Matin Taha had planned the blast.

Sandeshkhali-like incidents for years: Incidents like Sandeshkhali have been happening for years under the rule of 'Mamata Didi', whose political life is linked to women's identity. If every nook and corner is investigated now, then who knows how many messages will be revealed in Bengal. On the other hand, 'Mamata Didi' has such love that she continuously protects criminals for the sake of power. Being a woman, why is Mamata silent on the issue of atrocities against women, and permitting the police to torture the victims instead of the oppressors? That is, 'Mamata Banerjee' has changed so much with time that politics has become everything for her. She can go to any extent to maintain her power. Even if not one but many Sandeshkhali are revealed in West Bengal, it doesn't matter to them! Her power should remain intact at all costs.

How much more misuse of power? It is good that there is a court, a central government, many national agencies, and commissions, which are present to listen to the version of the victim and based on that, to give instructions to the state governments and provide arrangements to protect the victim. Had that not been the case, then imagine; How much more 'Mamata Banerjee' might misuse her power?

Unmindful of women's torture: As the hearing in the Sandeshkhali case is progressing, many shocking shreds of evidence are emerging before the court. Many commissions are trying to find out the facts at their level and based on what they have learned so far, they are very uneasy as to why 'Mamata' did not feel the pain of the women of West Bengal despite being a woman. After all this, why does she still not want to understand the problems of the women of her state and the painful reality faced by them?

Goons get shelter! How dire the situation will be here can only be imagined, because even the Calcutta High Court has felt the need to give instructions to get the Sandeshkhali case investigated by the CBI under its supervision. Former TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh faces many allegations like sexual harassment of women of Sandeshkhali, land grabbing and extortion. The extent is such that when the court intervenes and gives instructions, then 'Mamata's' Bengal Police arrest Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazra and Uttam Sardar and send them to jail, otherwise they and others like them would be under their protection. How many goons, enemies of humanity, is it giving protection to?

CBI Investigation underway: The Calcutta High Court order states that there will be a CBI investigation under the supervision of the High Court in Sandeshkhali sexual harassment, rape and other cases. The Government of West Bengal will provide adequate facilities and security to the CBI officials and the victims of Sandeshkhali. The High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to file a report on the illegal conversion of agricultural land for fish farming. At the same time, the state government was ordered to install CCTV cameras in the Sandeshkhali area within 15 days. LEDs should be installed as per requirement. The Bengal government will bear the expenses of all this. It must be said that after the court order, now Mamata Banerjee's government of West Bengal will not be able to stop the CBI investigation. Also, a CBI investigation is already going on in the case of land grabbing and attack on ED.

Victims tortured: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also kept a diary through its report of what the leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) were doing in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. The commission's investigation at the scene found that the victims had been tortured in many ways. People here have faced attacks, threats, sexual exploitation, land grabbing and forced unpaid labour. With the connivance of government officials, the common people here were also deprived of the right to vote. There was discrimination in government schemes. NHRC has kept these figures in great detail.

People threatened with dire consequences: It must be said that 'Mamata Banerjee', who was chosen by the people of West Bengal as an alternative to the brutal power, has been engaged in fulfilling her political wishes at all costs after coming to power for the last several years. West Bengal was burning yesterday and is burning even today. Somewhere the message is going blank and somewhere the terrorists are enjoying comfortably. Somewhere the ministers and MLAs of the Mamata government are openly threatening the general public that you have to stay here, and vote only for TMC in the elections, otherwise be prepared to face the consequences! On the other hand, there is 'Mamata Banerjee' who herself is engaged in appeasement politics. She is saying that CAA, NRC and UCC will not be implemented in West Bengal during her tenure, whereas CAA is a citizenship law, UCC gives equal protection of law to all the citizens in the country whereas NRC identifies illegal citizens.

Illusion of power: Overall, through complete Muslim appeasement, she feels that she will be successful in getting the maximum number of her people to the Parliament and through this appeasement, she will continue to hold on to the power in Bengal, no one can do anything to her. !
