Kabul, 30 Mar (HS):- About three million children in Afghanistan could suffer from malnutrition this year. The warning was issued by the World Food Programme (WFP), Khaama Press news agency reported.

Head of the Nutrition of WFP Mona Sheikh said on the ‘X’ handle that WFP will be able to assist about 1.6 million malnourished children. UNICEF in 2023 assisted 715,000 malnourished children in Afghanistan.

The problem became severe after the Taliban took over in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is facing a shortfall of funds from international organisations due to Taliban rulers’ policies.

TOLO News reported that the universities in Afghanistan remained closed for girls for over 15 months adding to their frustration. The entire society is suffering due to bias in academic pursuits and developmental issues.
