Delhi & Punjab CMs offer prayers at Ram temple in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, 12 Feb (HS): On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, together with their families, offered prayers at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Today, I had the excellent chance to see Ram Lalla. Kejriwal subsequently told reporters that he felt enormous serenity after performing prayers at the site, something he couldn't articulate. The AAP officials, their spouses, and other family members spent around an hour and 15 minutes in the Ram temple.

It is a matter of good fortune for the entire world that a magnificent and majestic temple has been built in Ayodhya, and lakhs of Ram enthusiasts visit every day to worship, Kejriwal stated. Both chief ministers arrived in the city via plane this afternoon.

Kejriwal, national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was invited to the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ram Lalla's idol on January 22, but declined to go and instead planned to visit it later with his family.

Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, invited Kejriwal and Mann for lunch, according to AAP Uttar Pradesh president Sabhajeet Singh. Speaking to the journalists at Ayodhya airport before returning to Delhi, Kejriwal stated, We prayed at the temple for everyone's happiness, peace, and health. Mann described India as a land of numerous religious beliefs, with all festivals celebrated together. At the Ram temple, we prayed for national peace and harmony. India is a bouquet of flowers of all hues, each with its own unique smell, Punjab chief minister opined.

Arvind Kejriwal said on X, Reaching Ayodhya today with my parents and wife, I had the opportunity of getting the heavenly darshan of Ramlala ji at the Shri Ram shrine. Bhagwant ji and his family were also present at this event. Everyone gathered to have darshan of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram Ji and pray for the country's growth and the well-being of all humanity. May the Lord Shri Ramchandra ji bless everyone. Jai Shri Ram. He also uploaded photos from his visit to the temple. On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed a historic ceremony at the Ayodhya shrine to dedicate an idol of Lord Ram.

The temple's opening marked the end of a decades-long battle, primarily under the Hindutva banner, and Modi declared it the start of a new era. Lakhs of people watched the 'pran pratishtha' ritual on television at home and at nearby temples, only months before the Lok Sabha elections and 34 years after BJP stalwart L K Advani's memorable 'Mandir Wahin Banayenge' speech during his Rath Yatra.
