Guwahati, 30 December (HS): Preparations are in full swing for the grand three-day Samutkarsha Mahashibir, organized by Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, scheduled to be held from January 29 to 31, 2025.
A preparatory meeting for this grand event took place on Monday in the auditorium of the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Sarusajai.
The meeting was chaired by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Rana Pratap Kalita, President of the Samutkarsha Mahashibir Celebration Committee. Dr. Pawan Tiwari, Organizational Secretary of Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, explained the objectives behind organizing the Mahashibir. Dr. Jagadindra Rai Choudhury, Secretary of Purvottar Kshetra, delegated responsibilities to various members present. Nirav Ghelani, Organizational Secretary of Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, inspired the participants to proceed with a well-structured plan in their respective domains.
The event witnessed the unveiling of the official logo and promotional video of the Mahashibir. Mukuteswar Goswami, Prachar pramukh of Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, announced that around 5,000 students from across Northeast India would participate in synchronized musical performances. The Mahashibir will feature exhibitions, physical activities, Panchpadi-based education, a children's fair, and more.
Notably, for the concluding ceremony on January 31, governors, chief ministers, education ministers, and other dignitaries from Assam and the seven other northeastern states have been invited. The closing ceremony is expected to attract an audience of nearly 30,000 people.
Prominent attendees at the meeting included Dipankar Bora, Editor of Assam Prakashan Bharati, Kulendra Kumar Bhagawati, President of Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Uttar Assam Prant, General Secretary Jagannath Rajbanshi, and other key members of Vidya Bharati, along with a significant number of volunteers and organizers.
