Dhubri (Assam), 28 December (HS): An accused has been injured in police firing in Paikandara village of Bilasipara in Dhubri district. This accused is the mastermind of the firing incident in the Raniganj market.

On the evening of 26 November, three armed criminals opened an indiscriminate fire at the SBI Customer Service Center in Raniganj market, in which three people including Wahidur Rahman and Ratan Rai were seriously injured.

The police had arrested the main accused Noor Kalam related to this incident. Last night, the police raided Paikandara village to recover the weapon used in the incident.

According to the police, during the recovery of the weapon, Noor Kalam tried to escape, due to which the police had to open fire. The bullet hit Noor Kalam's right leg.

The police have admitted the injured accused to Dhubri Medical College Hospital.
