Bhubaneswar, 28 December (H.S.): Shri Lalit Gupta, the CMD of the Cotton Corporation of India, met with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Farmers' Empowerment, and Energy, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, today at Lokseva Bhavan. During their discussion, Shri Gupta raised various issues related to cotton production, procurement, and market facilities.
Currently, cotton is cultivated on 2.39 lakh hectares of land in Odisha, with a target of producing 40 lakh quintals this year. The cotton produced in Odisha is of excellent quality and is in high demand in the market. They also discussed future perspectives for the Cotton Corporation of India and the Government of Odisha.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of DAFE, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Regional Manager of CCI, Shri T K Das, and Additional Director of DAFE, Shri J Surya Rao.
