Guwahati, 19 December (HS): Guwahati's Chandmari police has arrested a goldsmith on charges of buying stolen jewellery.

Police said on Thursday that Dipankar Karmakar (42), a goldsmith from Silpukhri, who is a resident of Lal Ganesh, has been arrested on charges of buying stolen jewellery.

During a search of the arrested accused's Basudev Jewellery, two gold nose pins, a small silver chain, two anklets, a pair of small bangles, a ring were recovered. An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident and legal action has been initiated.
