Guwahati, 19 December (HS): The Bashisht police team of Guwahati has arrested four vicious thieves involved in a theft case. Police said on Thursday that an EGPD team of Vashisht police station arrested two thieves, Bishnu Das (31), a resident of Longai and Raja Kalita (33), a resident of Baghmara, on the basis of secret information. Both the arrested accused were carrying 10 large iron rods in a truck (AS-01HC-8752). Which was brought after stealing.
On the information given by the two arrested accused, the police team searched a dump yard near a bicycle factory. During the search, the police seized 40 kg of copper wire, brass utensils, 30 kg of AC pipes, sanitary items, household utensils, workshop materials etc. Two more thieves, Saizuddin (45) of Kasomara and Nazir Ali (38) of Fakirganj, were arrested during the operation. Police have lodged an FIR in connection with the incident and initiated legal action.
