Guwahati, 24 November (HS): Police have arrested an accused with fake notes from Garchuk area of Guwahati. Meanwhile, Panbazar police have arrested a peddler involved in drug smuggling.

Police said on Monday that the team of Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) Police Outpost of Garchuk police station arrested David Rai (26, Sikkim) with 416 fake notes of five hundred rupees. Fake notes worth ₹2 lakh and a mobile phone were seized from the arrested accused. Meanwhile, Panbazar police arrested Anwar Ali (21, Bilasipara) with 10.48 grams of heroin kept in 8 small plastic vials, three syringes, a mobile phone and ₹1,110 in cash.

Police arrested Anwar Hussain from near the railway gate located in Panbazar area. In both the cases, the police have registered separate FIRs and are investigating the matter.
