Guwahati, 21 November (HS): Sonapur police has arrested three thieves in the case of theft of copper wires worth ₹6.03 lakh from the area.
Police said on Thursday that copper wires were stolen from Star Cement's store located in Samata Pathar area of Sonpur. After an FIR was lodged in this regard, the police team conducted a search operation and arrested three thieves.
The arrested accused have been identified as Puka Ali (32) of Bijay Nagar, Rinku Ali (24) of Mikirbheta and Pappu Gogoi (29). After interrogating the arrested accused, three bundles of copper wires stolen from a Kabaddi shop in Kapalkata of Sonpur were recovered. On the basis of the FIR already registered, the police are conducting intensive interrogation of the three arrested thieves.
