New Delhi, 21 November (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulates the Indian hockey team on winning the Women's Asian Champions Trophy. Prime Minister Modi expressed happiness by posting on his X handle today and congratulated the country's team.

He wrote, An unprecedented achievement! Congratulations to our hockey team on winning the Women's Asian Champions Trophy. They performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament and their success will inspire many upcoming athletes.

It is noteworthy that the Indian women's hockey team showed their strength on Wednesday and won the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 title. By defeating China 1-0 in the final match, India maintained its undefeated record throughout the tournament. This match played on the ground of Rajgir became historic for the Indian team.

In the final match, the first and decisive goal was scored by Deepika from a penalty corner in the second minute of the third quarter. This was Deepika's 11th goal in the tournament, giving Team India the lead. After this, the Indian defense line played brilliantly and did not give China a chance to equalize.
