Kamrup, (Assam), November 21 (HS). Boko police in collaboration with the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police on Thursday seized 121 grams of heroin from a passenger vehicle near Boko police station. The market value of this heroin, hidden in nine soap boxes, is estimated to be more than one crore rupees.
Police said that in this drive based on a secret information, a drug peddler named Sharif Ali was arrested near Nagarbera. Ali was traveling in the vehicle in the guise of a passenger. The passenger was reportedly going from Guwahati to Simlitola in Nagarbera. He was stopped on the way.
During the raid, STF officials also seized Ali's mobile phone. The operation was led by Inspector Bikram Basumatari and Shankar Nath.
