After the whole day's trading, the Sensex ended today's trading with a gain of 0.31 percent and the Nifty with a gain of 0.28 percent. During trading, the shares of IT, pharmaceutical and realty sectors were the most bought.
Apart from this, banking, automobile, capital goods, consumer durables, FMCG, healthcare, public sector enterprise and tech index also closed strongly.
On the other hand, there was continuous selling in the shares of energy, infrastructure, oil and gas and metal sectors. There was continuous buying in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 0.94 percent.
Similarly, the smallcap index ended today's trading with a gain of 0.90 percent. Due to the strength in the stock market today, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 1 lakh crore.
The market capitalization of companies listed on the BSE increased to ₹430.39 lakh crore (provisional) after today's trading. Whereas on the previous trading day i.e. Monday, their market capitalization was ₹429.08 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about ₹1.31 lakh crore from today's trading.
There was active trading in 4,059 shares in BSE during the day's trading. Of these, 2,353 shares closed with a gain, while 1,612 shares declined, while 94 shares closed without any fluctuation. There was active trading in 2,474 shares in NSE today. Out of these, 1,628 stocks closed in the green zone after making profit and 846 stocks closed in the red zone after suffering loss. Similarly, out of the 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 17 stocks closed with a gain and 13 stocks closed with a loss. Whereas, out of the 50 stocks included in the Nifty, 26 stocks closed in the green zone and 24 stocks closed in the red zone.
The BSE Sensex opened today with a gain of 208.99 points at 77,548 points. As soon as the trading started, the bulls made their presence felt, due to which the movement of this index gained momentum.
With the support of continuous buying, this index reached 78,451.65 points with a gain of 1,112.64 points. The bulls dominated most of the day's trading, but in the last 1 hour of trading, there was selling pressure in the market. Due to this selling, the Sensex fell 873.27 points from the upper level and closed at 77,578.38 points with a gain of 239.37 points. Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today with a gain of 75.75 points at the level of 23,529.55 points. As soon as the market opened, this index gained momentum with the support of buying. Due to continuous buying, this index jumped 326.85 points to reach today's highest level of 23,780.65 points. However, after this, due to the start of selling, the movement of this index started declining. Especially, due to the start of selling all around a little before 3 pm, this index fell to 23,464.80 points. Supported by buying due to intra-day settlement in the last few minutes of trading, the index rose slightly from the lower level and closed at 23,518.50 points with a gain of 64.70 points.
After the full day's trading today, among the stock market's big stocks, Mahindra & Mahindra 3.58 percent, Tech Mahindra 2.34 percent, HDFC Bank 2.18 percent, Trent Limited 1.94 percent and Eicher Motors 1.84 percent rose to be included in the list of today's top 5 gainers. On the other hand, SBI Life Insurance 2.54 percent, Hindalco Industries 1.70 percent, Reliance Industries 1.51 percent, HDFC Life 1.46 percent and Tata Consumer Products 1.46 percent fell to be included in the list of today's top 5 losers.
