New Delhi, 30 October (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday greeted the people on the eve of Deepawali. She said that while believing in goodness, take pride in India's glorious culture and pledge to build a healthy, prosperous and sensitive society and celebrate pollution-free Deepawali.

The President has said in her greetings message that on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, I congratulate and wish all Indians living in India and abroad.

Deepawali is a festival of happiness and enthusiasm. This festival is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness and dharma over adharma. This festival is celebrated with gaiety by different communities and classes in the country and abroad. This festival spreads hope for a bright future.

She said that on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, we should resolve to enlighten our conscience and adopt virtues like love, compassion and social harmony. This festival is also an opportunity to help the deprived and needy and share happiness with them.
