Ahmedabad, 25 Oct (HS): More than 50 Bangladeshi nationals
living illegally in India have been arrested by police in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. More
than 200 suspects are being interrogated.
Ahmedabad’s crime branch of police DCP Ajit Rajiyan arrested three Bangladeshis a few days back and laid hands on more than 50 others based on
information given by them during interrogation. The documents including their
land records, identity cards, and birth certificates are being checked to trace
their origin in Bangladesh. The information is being collected through their
mobile phones.
Most of the women arrested were engaged in prostitution
or were working as domestic help and other labour work. The men were involved
in drug trafficking and labour work.
