Moradabad,
Oct 18 (HS): The impact of Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine wars is visible
on the five-day IHGF Delhi fair going on in Greater Noida at India Expo Center
and Mart. Exporters from Moradabad, who had set up stalls in the fair, said
that on the third day of the fair on Friday, buyers from West Asian countries
Iran, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Philippines were expected to come in
large numbers but continuous escalation of tension in the region have marred
their business prospects. Apart from this, buyers from Africa and USA also came
less as compared to last year.
Moradabad
Handicraft Exporters Association General Secretary Awadhesh Aggarwal said that
the fair started from October 16 at the Expo Mart of Greater Noida, which will
continue till October 20.About 800
exporters and entrepreneurs from Moradabad district have set up stalls.
Awadhesh Aggarwal further said that handicraft exports are going through ups
and downs for the last three years. Moradabad's handicraft exports have
declined by about 30 to 40 percent.
Amidst these ups and downs, exporters of
Moradabad have high hopes from the five-day Greater Noida Expo Fair being
organized by the Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts at India Expo Center
and Mart. As expected, foreign buyers came in large numbers on the first and
second day of the fair. Foreign buyers are less on the third day of the fair.
Big and small buyers have been visiting many handicraft product stalls
throughout the day. JMD Export owner Vivek Aggarwal said that the fair has been
affected by the Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine wars. There are still two
days left for the fair, it is expected that the number of buyers will increase.
