Oct 18 (HS): Once again a leopard
has been caught after coming from the forest to the populated area in the
district for hunting. The leopard was captured at midnight on Thursday in a
cage installed by the Forest Department in Ayodhyapurwa village adjacent to the
forest. He was rescued by the forest personnel and taken to the range office
and after health checkup, the process of releasing him into the forest was
started on Friday. DFO B Shiv Shankar said that wild animals often come from
the border forests of the district in search of prey.
One such leopard was
synonymous with terror for the people in Sujauli Gram Panchayat of Sujauli
police station area for many days. The leopard was attacking people. To catch
him, a cage was set up in Ayodhyapurwa on October 12. Last Thursday night at
around 1 o'clock, the leopard came and got imprisoned in the cage installed by
the forest department. It has been rescued along with the cage and brought to
the range office by the forest personnel. DFO said that the leopard will be
released in the forest after its health checkup by a panel of three doctors.
