Kaziranga (Assam), 1 October (HS): World Heritage Site Kaziranga National Park has been opened for tourists from Tuesday. Three forest areas in the park as well as the main forest area Kanhara have been reopened for tourists.
State Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patwari formally opened the park for tourists. A special puja was organized in the Kanhara forest area this morning. Along with this, the park was opened for tourists in view of the tourism year 2024-25 amid cultural programs.
It is noteworthy that every year the park is closed for tourists during the rainy season. During the rainy season, flood water enters most parts of the park, due to which the wildlife of the park migrates to safer places to save their lives.
