Dhemaji, 1 October (H.S.): A wild elephant died a tragic death in Dhemaji Chichibargaon-Amguri. Local people saw the dead elephant lying in the middle of a field.

People say that the elephant died due to illness, while according to some, the elephant died due to electric shock. Till the time of filing this report, the forest department personnel had not reached the spot. The exact cause of death will be known only after conducting a post-mortem.
