Jammu, 1 June (H.S): Under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, police nabbed two notorious drug peddlers including a woman and recovered 550 gms of ganja from their possession.

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Naresh Kumar s/o Narayan Singh r/o Dharasiv, Chhattisgarh and Gita Bai w/o Naresh Kumar r/o Dharasiv, Chattisgarh. A case has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation is underway.

Samba Police team headed by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary and comprising of SHO Police Station Rajeshwar Singh & PSI Davinder Singh in the presence of Executive Magistrate Ist Class Swarn Singh & independent witnesses conducted a surprised raid and arrested the notorious drug peddlers with ganja red-handed while they were selling ganja to the addicts in small pockets on huge margins in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. Further interrogation of the arrested drug peddlers is going on.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, said that total 44 drug suppliers/smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in four months, one notorious heroin peddler has been detained and lodged in jail under PITNDPS Act 1988 and several other hardcore heroin smugglers have been booked under law and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
