Jaunpur, June 1 (HS): Days after a faculty member was sacked for soliciting sexual favours from a female student, another instructor from TD Law College in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district was detained on suspicion of sodomising a juvenile boy in the Line Bazar police station area, according to authorities.

An FIR has been lodged against Santosh Singh on the charges of sodomising and also under sections of POCSO by Line Bazar cops, said Brajesh Kumar, Assistant Superintendent of Police (City), Jaunpur. “He was apprehended. In their complaint, the parents of the young child, who was about 11 years old, stated that Singh lived in their colony in the Jaunpur city region.

On Wednesday, at 10 a.m., Singh contacted their son to give him some books. Singh sodomised the youngster when he arrived at the residence. After coming home, the child informed his mother about the incident. This is the second incident in a week involving the famous Jaunpur Institute of Higher Education.

Previously, Pradeep Singh, the head of the history department of TD Post Graduate College, was caught on tape soliciting sexual favours from a female student. After a video of his deed went popular on social media, the police filed a report, and the college administration suspended him on May 28.
