New Delhi, 26 May (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the youth of the Northeast are returning to the mainstream of development in large numbers due to the policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party government. He said that today Assam is witnessing a new era of peace and development under the BJP government.

Prime Minister Modi was speaking while addressing the Assam Employment Fair through a video message. During this, he said, “Due to the policies of the present BJP government, today a large number of youth in the Northeast are returning to the mainstream of development. The BJP government is committed to fulfil the dreams of the youth. By giving new opportunities for employment and self-employment, we are moving fast towards building a new India.

The Prime Minister congratulated the youth and their families who have been recruited for jobs in the Government of Assam. He recalled his visit to the state last month on the occasion of Bihu and said the memory of the grand event symbolizing the glorification of Assamese culture is still fresh in his mind.

He said that today's employment fair shows the seriousness towards the future of the youth in Assam. Even before this, more than 40 thousand youths have been given government jobs through employment fairs in Assam. Today appointment letters have been handed over to about 45 thousand youth and wished the youth a bright future.

The Prime Minister said, “Assam is witnessing a new era of peace and development and this pace of development has spread positivity and inspiration in Assam.” He said that the Assam government has taken several steps to make government recruitment more transparent. 'Assam Direct Recruitment Commission' (Assam Direct Recruitment Commission) has been created to complete the recruitment process in various departments.

He further added that many recruitments were not completed on time due to the earlier process where each department had different rules and candidates had to appear for different exams for different departments. All these processes have now been made very easy.

Referring to the nectar of independence, the Prime Minister said that we all have resolved to make our country a developed nation. These next 25 years of Amrit Kaal are as important as your service period. You will now be the face of the Assam government for every common citizen. Today our society is becoming increasingly aspirational and no citizen wants to wait for basic amenities.

Modi said that in the era of Twenty20 cricket, the people of the country want quick results and hence the government systems will have to adapt themselves accordingly. During this, the Prime Minister underlined the responsibilities of government employees in fulfilling the aspirations of the citizens of the country.
