Kathmandu, 23 May (HS): Famous Nepalese mountaineer Kama Rita Sherpa scripted history on Tuesday by scaling Mount Everest for the 28th time. Kama Rita reached its highest peak for the second time this season.

Pasang Dawa Sherpa scaled Everest for the 27th time on May 22 to equal the record by Kama Rita. The record remained short-lived as Kama Rita started the next expedition on May 22. A record number of 478 mountaineers have been granted permission this season.
