Nepal police submit enquiry report on fake Bhutan refugee scam


Kathmandu, 22 May (HS): Nepal police on Monday submitted its enquiry report in a fake Bhutani refugee scandal case. Police have suggested legal proceedings against 33 people including former Deputy Prime Minister to Bahadur Raymazi and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand.

Nepal police have arrested 16 people so far and reported 17 absconding with charges of fraud, organised crime and treachery against the state. Those arrested include Top Bahadur Raymazi, his son Sanjiv Raym,azi, Balkrishna Khand, ex-MP Indrajit Rai, Angatava Sherpa, Government Secretary Teknarayan Pande, Bhutani refugee leader Teknath Rijal and others.

The enquiry started on March 26 and concluded on May 22.
