Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha proceedings adjourned

New Delhi, 23 March (HS): The proceedings of both the Houses of the Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha remained disrupted for the eighth day on Thursday. Due to the deadlock between the ruling party and the Opposition, the proceedings of both houses were adjourned till 2 pm.

Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were remembered for their contribution to the freedom struggle on Martyr's Day today in the Lok Sabha. After this, with the commencement of normal proceedings, a ruckus started from both sides.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that after the completion of the Question Hour, as per the rules and procedure, the leaders of the Opposition will be given an opportunity to speak. After the uproar continued, Speaker Birla adjourned the proceedings.

On the other hand, Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal raised the issue of Rahul Gandhi's statement. He said that Rahul Gandhi has tried to tarnish the reputation of the country. He should clarify his intention and apologise to the countrymen.

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Opposition will not back down from its JPC demand. Seeing the increasing deadlock in the House, the proceedings were adjourned till two o'clock.

The second part of the budget session of the Lok Sabha began on Monday last week. Since then, the proceedings of both Houses have been continuously interrupted due to the deadlock of the Opposition.
