Ranchi, Sept.9 (HS): Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his commitment to make the state self reliant while addressing the house in the capacity of house leader on the last day of five-day monsoon session which was adjourned sine die after clearing as many as eight bills and paving the path of ending deadlock over allotment of room for offering Nazam in the assembly premises.

In his approximately 40-minute speech at the end of session which started around 2.15pm and continued till 5.50pm, Soren underlined the importance of being self reliant saying it was the need of hours observing the attitude of the union government towards the states.

He presented a recent example of withdrawal of Rs 714 crore from state’s RBI account saying the union government which owes in tunes of several lakh crores of the state against land compensation and GST compensation besides others withdraw money from RBI account of backward state on the basis of a single agreement.

While sharing his complaint with the union government in the house, CM sought support from the opposition saying that if all get united the state can make a strong decision to ensure in getting what is due for the state.

CM Soren, however, made it clear that it will not take any decision which is not in the interest of the nation adding that the nation shows its power outside the country with the help of states.

Sharing his initiatives and plan to make the state self-reliant, chief minister Soren said that the state has constituted Sido Kanhu Forest Van Utpad Mahasangh as it believes that forest produce can help a lot to make the state self-reliant. He said that the state is already performing well in the field of Silk and Lac production.

Soren said that the state is constructing 100 Kisan Pathshala and planning to add new dimensions in the field of agricultural management.

Talking about generating possibilities in the field of power production he said the state has planned a solar park in Giridih and floating solar park in Ranchi. He said that recently a power sub station was inaugurated in Garhwa.

Mentioning his achievement in the field of industrial development to make the state self-reliant he said recently the state during an investors meet paved the path of Rs 10000 crore investment in coming three years in the state. He added that the investment will ensure 20000 direct and 1 lakh indirect employment.

The chief minister during his speech justified promotion of local languages in recruitment policy saying it will help bridge communication gap between villagers and government officials and thus pave the path of development. He said if proper attention will not be paid on local languages it will vanish like tribals.

Talking about social welfare, he said recently the government helped 12000 tribal women get rid of their profession of selling ‘Hadia’, a local liquor, and brought them into the mainstream of the society. He said 5 lakh new farmers will be benefitted by Kisan Credit Card.

Expressing his commitment to promote sports saying his government has given direct employment to 39 players and the practice will continue in the future.

Soren during his speech also admitted corruption in the state saying the system can not change overnight. The situation came when he was talking about the steps taken for malnutrition among children saying he has provided eggs for children six days a week and expects at least four of the provided number to reach them.

Earlier, Soren condemned BJP for its behaviour in the house and wasting time in discussing communal issues. He praised the speaker for running the house properly.
