PRAYAGRAJ, Dec 7 (HS): North Central Railway, under the guidance of General Manager Pramod Kumar, is observing Energy Conservation Week from 7th -14th December’2021, to promote awareness regarding Energy Conservation, in which all three divisions Prayagraj, Jhansi & Agra and two workshops- Jhansi & Sithouli are participating enthusiastically. All the divisions & Railway Workshops are committed to save energy & promote maximum use of Green Energy i.e. solar energy in railways, implementation of various energy saving measures and use of energy efficient electrical appliances in offices and residences. Also, awareness is being created to implement energy saving in every sphere of life as a mission, in national interest.

During the Energy Conservation Week, Agra, Jhansi and Prayagraj divisions & NCR’s Railway workshops are spreading the message of energy conservation not only among Railway users but also among public. Energy conservation jingles are being run at various stations of North Central Railway. Video clips of Energy Conservation messages are being displayed at railway stations. Railway Passengers are being sensitized about energy saving and its importance through announcements at Railway Stations.

During the calendar year 2021 NCR has generated 11.24 million unit of Green Energy with its 11 MWp Solar Power Plants and regenerated 17.6 crore unit energy with the 3-phase technology Electric Locomotives in its train operation. On this occasion, passengers, Railway Employees and their families are being made aware about energy conservation measures. Following Covid-19 protocols, special awareness campaigns are also being organized at divisions and Railway workshops by the Electrical Department of NCR.
