Varanasi, 09 Sept (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on

Wednesday held a direct dialogue with Anganwadi workers from the state and the

country in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi.

The Chief Minister recognized an Anganwadi worker from Gorakhpur at the event.

The worker said, You came to our village, Basiyapur, in Gorakhpur.

The Chief Minister smiled and agreed. The Chief Minister was talking to

Anganwadi workers from the stage at the inauguration of the 9th National Nutrition

Month, organized at the Rudraksh Convention Center in Sigra.

While praising the Anganwadi workers, he said that Anganwadi is our

foundation. The Chief Minister asked Sandhya, Anganwadi worker of Gorakhpur,

what efforts did you make to bring the severely malnourished children to the

normal category? On this, the worker said that we weighed the children every

day and measured their height. We gave clean and nutritious food to the

children. We also met the mothers of the children. We inspired them to prepare

nutritious food at home. Give seasonal fruits and vegetables to the children.

We prepare Khichdi by adding spinach and carrots in it.

The Chief Minister then asked what benefits the children received from the

take-home ration. The worker explained that some people initially complained.

Then, she explained to the women. The government is adjusting the sugar and

salt ratios in the children's food according to their age.

The Chief Minister also interacted with Anganwadi workers who had come from

Gujarat and Orissa to participate in the program. He directly asked what

efforts were made from your level to make Anganwadi centers ideal? How did the

lives of malnourished children change? On this, the workers said that the

intellectual and physical development of children has taken place in Anganwadi

centers. With the feeling of Gujarat, the Chief Minister asked what food they

give to the children. The Chief Minister interacted with Anganwadi workers of

Tamil Nadu.

At the event, held in the presence of the Chief Minister, State Women

Welfare and Child Development Minister Baby Rani Maurya stated that the

nutrition campaign is being rapidly promoted in Uttar Pradesh under the ninth

National Nutrition Month-2026. She added that parents who cooperate with the

campaign are also being honored. The Minister stated that if India is to

develop, it is essential to nourish children. Anganwadi workers bear a major

responsibility for children's nutrition. The government is playing an important

role in health promotion under the Matruvandan Yojana. This scheme helps

improve the health of mothers and children.
